ABOUT AWim23
Media and gender violence refer to the intersection of the way in which media portrays gender and the perpetuation of violence against individuals based on their gender identity. This is not only limited to physical violence but also includes psychological, sexual and economic forms of violence. Recent statistics show that gender-based violence remains a prevalent issue globally, with women and girls being disproportionately affected. The conference in Rwanda this year will look at the nuances surrounding Media and gender violence.
